Margaret Daniel

Margaret Daniel will teach traditional welsh folk harmony.

Margaret was born and bred in Ceredigion. After gaining a degree in Music at Aberystwyth University, where she conducted the Student Madrigal Choir, she entered the teaching profession, working in the U.K. and overseas. Training and conducting choirs has been a major part of her work and has conducted choral societies in many parts of the U.K. Locally she conducted the Cardigan and District Pensioners’ choir for 19 years, during which time the choir won major awards at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. The National Eisteddfod will be held in Ceredigion in 2020 and she is busy preparing a Welsh learners’ choir in Cardigan to compete at the Eisteddfod.

At present she conducts a female choir, Côr Bro Nest, a group which she founded 27 years ago and latterly has been appointed the conductor of the Blaenporth Male Voice choir, which her father founded over 70 years ago . She enjoys conducting hymn singing festivals (Cymanfa Ganu) in Wales, USA, Canada and Patagonia, as well as in local churches to support various charities.
