A long-married couple try to revitalise their relationship in this funny and touching comedy.
Brummie philosophy professor Nick and schoolteacher Meg have been married for three long decades. Now the bickering couple have decided to try to put the spark back into their tired relationship with a 30th wedding anniversary return to Paris. It’s the city where they spent their honeymoon. Here they run into Nick’s old Cambridge buddy, Morgan. A sickeningly successful writer, Morgan invites them to the launch party for his new essay collection. This encounter proves to be their much-needed catalyst for change. Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan contribute wonderfully believable, lived-in performances to this warm and witty love story. 93mins
